Thanks to the collaboration of research institutes within the area and to funding from the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, AREA Science Park was able, in 2001, to initiate the creation of a permanent system for the effective transfer to businesses of knowledge, competences and innovations already existing within the region’s research system.
In particular, AREA has developed an enhancement process for the findings of research, which is the most effective way of organizing the series of procedures and activities necessary to transfer research findings onto the market.
Enhancing competences
In order to develop its own activities of technology transfer and diffusion of innovations, AREA Science Park collaborates with the network of experts which exists within the Friuli Venezia Giulia research system. This represents a unique source of expertise which is constantly monitored by AREA so that up-to-date information on know-how availability in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region can be readily accessed.
