The promotion of international relations within the sectors of research, enhancement and transfer of technology, and of economic and industrial development, particularly with neighbouring European regions and with the countries in economic transition in central-eastern Europe, represents an opportunity for economic growth in the FVG region, and AREA SciencePark pays particular attention to each opportunity for regional improvement. Although on the one hand it is a potential threat to competition, the global market does, on the other hand, offer enormous opportunities for development, for creating partnerships and for identifying new locations, all of which have, until now, been difficult to seize.
AREA Science Park pays attention to these aspects, not least because it is located in a region lying on an international border and because of the enormous potential of transition countries.
